LEARN RIVER SAFETY SKILLS FOR YOUR TE ARAROA JOURNEY!

These 3-hour bespoke courses for Te Araroa walkers include both a theory component and a practical in-water session. Qualified instructors will teach you basic hydrology science, how to assess dynamic river environments, and a variety of techniques to cross & follow the rivers you will encounter along the Te Araroa track!

Saturday 6th September 2025 - 9.00am 

Saturday 20th September 2025 - 2.00pm 

Saturday 4th October 2025 - 9.00am

Saturday 18th October 2025 - 2.00pm

Saturday 25th October 2025 - 2.00pm

Important details:

  • $90.00 per person
  • Duration: 3 hours 
  • Max attendees: 30 per session (minimum of 10) 
  • Bookings close two weeks ahead of each course
  • Bring what you will where on Te Araroa - including your backpack and hiking poles.
